Ghent Gate
In the extension of the Rue de Gand, which is very busy in the evening, the Porte de Gand was built during the Spanish occupation, then enlarged by Vauban in 1670. With its decoration removed but still well integrated into the ramparts, this rather severe gateway houses a gastronomic restaurant upstairs.
Museum of Sedentary Gunners
In the building of the Lille gunners' corps (Sate-Barbe brotherhood), this museum evokes the sieges supported by the city and the feats of arms of Faidherbe and Négrier: one of the two distinguished himself in Black Africa, the other in Tonkin. 3,000 objects (rifles, edged weapons) are exhibited there
